Detail:
- Players work in pairs, with one player as the leader and the other player as the challenger.
- Both players step forward, either side of the cone line. The leader must choose a direction to go in and try and beat the challenger to the end of the cone line.
- If the leader wins, they get a point; if the challenger wins, they get 3 points.
Progression:
- Allow the leader to change direction at any point, after they have started to run.
- Add in a ball for the additional technical challenge.
Coaching Points:
- Players should seek to use body feints and disguises to try and slow or send the challenger the wrong way, to gain slight advantages.
- When making turns, players should have a low centre of gravity, bending their knees and having their chest low to the ground.
- The turns should be sharp, and players should use the power in their front leg to accelerate away from the turn at a high speed.
