Detail:
- Players work in two teams, with the pitch size reduced.
- Players can only move the ball with their hands, through throwing & catching.
- If holding the ball, the player is not allowed to move and must stay in their position.
- Players can only score with a header or with a volley.
- Throw-Ins & Goal “Throws” to be taken if ball leaves the area.
Progression:
- Progress to “Throw-Head-Catch” to encourage third player runs as part of the build-up play.
Coaching Points:
- Movement off the ball to receive must be effective, as the player on the ball is not able to move.
- Communication to call for the ball and pass information over to teammates is key to maintaining cohesion, especially when adding in the third player runs.
