COORDINATING THROUGH CHAOS

COORDINATING THROUGH CHAOS

Detail:

  • Players work in groups of 8 or more, with at least two players on each cone in the square.

  • One side of players having the ball at their feet, the other side with a ball in their hands.

  • Players move towards the opposite diagonal corner, and must pass the ball, through either a ground pass or using throw-in technique, to the player coming towards them.

  • Upon receipt, continue to the opposite corner, before laying the ball for the next person.

Progression:

  • Players transfer the ball to the opposite of what they were doing. If the ball is in the hands, use throw in technique to play ball to feet. If ball at feet, flick it up to the hands.

Coaching Points:

  • Players should be aware of the chaotic element of all four players moving at once, so must be aware to ensure not to collide, through both themselves and their passes, with other players who will be doing the same thing.

  • Players must multi-task effectively, as they must play a good pass with their feet, while getting themselves ready to catch the ball, or vice versa.
